"Peripatetic musician and teacher"
Piano entertainer, educationist (children and adults) and accompanist, orchestral player, choral singer and composer. Excellent at playing, orchestrating, improvising and sight-reading in any musical style.

  • Hillingdon Music School, 1970-78. Orchestra, choir, violin, recorder quartet and musicianship. On tour and locally. Opened the Beck Theatre.

WORK EXPERIENCE
MUSICAL PRODUCER AND PERFORMING ARTS DIRECTOR
  • In 2003, won a millennium Award from the Peabody Trust for creating a pilot Performing Arts School at St Mary’s Church, Northolt, for disadvantaged children. Devised a show using music, dance and drama and art, which was performed to the local community in Northolt.
  • Produced other musical shows and concerts, for example Cabaret and The Jungle Book.
  • Initiated and organize annual Made In Northolt festival.
  • Organize annual student music concert to raise money for charity.
  • Radio 4 Broadcast (2003). The Home Truths Programme with the late John Peel and Judi Herman made a Radio Broadcast about my music work, family and my rather special Steinway Grand Piano.
COMPOSING
  • Devised, composed and published 2 CD’s: educational music album with narrative and music on CD called ‘Crotchets In Love’; piano/ harpsichord/orchestral pieces on CD called ‘7 Instrumental Snippets’.
  • Composed a musical that was performed at the Compass Theatre, Ickenham in 1999.
  • Commissioned to produce a CD for music educational purposes including an original composition and story for children for Cherry Lane School
MUSIC TEACHER/COACH FOR PIANO, SINGING & INSTRUMENTAL
Taught piano and music since 1995. Currently teach at several primary schools including Cherry Lane Primary School, West Drayton (since 1999):
  • Teach music and movement to age 2-1/2 to age 6, including Special Educational Needs children; accompany, lead and arrange music for school (nursery to age 11) song practice and choir, Carol concerts, Xmas musicals, music concerts, shows and assemblies, community events, medley arrangement; school performs locally and in community competition
  • Formed a music staff band to accompany the musical productions consisting of drums, guitar and keyboard/piano.
  • Organised three local schools to perform community Xmas concert with music and poetry including for the Director Of Music for Hillingdon Schools
  • Have also taught music at St. John’s Prep School, and St. Martin’s Prep School in Northwood, Middlesex
Private Piano Instruction:
  • Have taught several hundred piano pupils who take AB and Guildhall exams ranging from beginner to Grade Eight.
  • Students play in concerts and festivals and have gained prizes and music scholarships
  • Almost 100% exam pass rate with children ranging from SEN to mainstream to the very gifted. Two pupils at 15 and 16 yrs gained Grade Eight piano AB of the Royal School of Music with Distinction, also others with merit and pass at Grade Eight. Pupils have obtained piano scholarships to excellent Independent schools
  • Accompany my piano pupils on other instruments and voice for concerts and exams and festivals.

PIANIST AND ACCOMPANIST
(all instruments/ occasions/ ages/ singing; proficient at sight reading, improvising and playing for classes, shows and ballet exams (RAD and ISTD)

CHURCH PIANIST AND PROFESSIONAL ORGANIST (Weddings and Services): St. Martin’s Church, London and St. Mary’s, Northolt. Perform regularly in the local community and also for fundraising events including Children IN Need. Stand in for Director of Music at St. Mary’s Church
WEDDINGS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS - pianist for parties, weddings, anniversaries, Senior Citizens Homes and Day Centres.
COCKTAIL PIANIST – weddings (Carlton Tower Hotel, Knightsbridge)
REPETITURE & ACCOMPANIMENT - accompany singers and other instruments for concerts, shows, rehearsals, festivals, exams, choirs, musical, operatic and dramatic societies (including Harrow, Hillingdon Borough choirs, PHEOS and NODA). Specializes in working with singers, having sung in choirs all her life.
Very involved in the local community including regularly organizing and performing concerts on a volunteer basis for hospitals, senior citizens homes, Harrow Services, Salvation Army, Homeleague, day care centres, churches and all faiths.
